Abstract Chapters 10–15 in Tosefta Soṭah contain the longest, most elaborated aggadic unit Tosefta. It comprises various units that seem to be connected only loosely: biblical righteous figures who brought abundance world (chs. 10–12); revelations and appearances of holy spirit divine echo (ch. 13); effects destruction calamities present 14–15). In this article I argue it forms fact a coherent unit. combines apocalyptic, priestly, wisdom themes manner is unprecedented rabbinic literature, but similar several Second Temple texts. tells tale perpetual decline from golden age rabbis’ own destruction, together with its eschatological remedy. priestly apocalyptic form an alternative standard meta-narrative transfer prophecy Torah.
